Strong revenues for Microsoft and Azure Cloud outperform Windows

With the end of the third quarter and the emergence of Microsoft’s financial data, Microsoft announced that its revenues amounted to about 37.2 billion, with Azure’s revenue growth of 48%, surpassing the percentage of Windows.

Azure cloud surpassed windows

Azure achieved its largest annual increase of 20%, an estimated $ 13 billion, while productivity and business operations recorded an increase of 11%, amounting to $ 12.3 billion, and personal computing witnessed an increase of 5%, or approximately $ 11.8 billion.
And Microsoft announced that financial revenues from commercial clouds increased year-on-year by 31%, by $ 15.2 billion.

Microsoft did not announce a specific number for Azure’s revenue in order not to fall into place in comparison with competing cloud service providers such as Amazon web service, Google Cloud, and Alibaba cloud, all of which only indicated that Azure’s revenue achieved financial numbers that surpassed Windows’ revenues for the first time.

The impact of the covid-19 pandemic

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has indicated that the market for cloud services will double in the next ten years and the covid-19 pandemic has accelerated this.

The whole world has turned to work and distance learning, which required a lot of communication via the Internet and the use of cloud resources, and this is definitely thanks to increasing revenues.
