Google Cloud Free consists of the following:

  • 90-day, $ 300 Free Trial: New Google Cloud and Google Maps Platform users can take advantage of a 90-day trial period that includes $ 300 in free cloud billing credits to explore and evaluate Google Cloud products and services. You can use these credits towards a single product or group of products.
  • Free tier: All customers can use specific Google Cloud products – such as Compute Engine, and Cloud Storage for free, within the specified monthly usage limits. When you remain within the limits of the free tier, these resources are not deducted from free trial balances or the payment method for your Cloud Billing account after the trial period ends.
  • Monthly Google Maps Platform Credits: Google Maps Platform features a monthly recurring balance of $ 200 (see prices for maps, routes, and locations). End of the free google cloud platform trial

The free trial period ends when you use all of your credit, or after 90 days, whichever occurs first. At that time, the following conditions apply:

  • To continue using Google Cloud, you must upgrade to a new account that a paid Cloud Billing.
  • All resources that you created during the trial are suspended.
  • Any data you have stored on the Compute Engine is lost.
  • Your Cloud Billing account is in a 30-day grace period, during which you can retrieve the resources and data that you have stored in any Google Cloud service during the trial period.
  • You may receive a message stating that your Cloud Billing account has been canceled, which only indicates that your account has been suspended to prevent fees.

Upgrade to a paid Cloud Billing account

You must upgrade to a paid Cloud Billing account to use Google Cloud after the free trial period ends. To take advantage of the features of a paid account (with GPUs, for example), you can upgrade before the trial period ends. Upon promotion, the following conditions apply:

  • Any remaining free trial balances that do not expire will remain in your Cloud Billing account.
  • For the resources that you use in excess of the amount covered by any remaining balance, the deduction will be made from the registered payment method (credit card or bank account).

You can upgrade your Cloud Billing account at any time after starting a free trial. The following conditions apply depending on the time of upgrade:

  • If you upgrade before the trial period ends, your remaining balance will be added to your paid Cloud Billing account. You can continue to use the resources you created during the free trial period without interruption.
  • If you upgrade within 30 days of the trial ends, you can restore the resources that you created during the trial.
  • If you upgrade more than 30 days after the trial period ends, you will lose resources for the free trial.
