IaaS PaaS SaaS : cloud services models

Cloud computing is classified according to the service provided through it into three models:

  1. Infrastructure as a service IaaS
  2. The platform as a service PaaS
  3. Software as a Service SaaS

IaaS PaaS SaaS in details

Infrastructure as a service IaaS

Cloud service providers, through this model, provide the infrastructure (i.e. computer equipment) as a service, so that computer equipment is reserved or purchased from the service provider’s data centers and used over the Internet. This equipment is purchased according to the user’s needs by specifying the characteristics of the required computer such as Number of processors, memory size, and storage capacity.

Then the user installs the operating system he desires on the infrastructure that he purchased and then installs the programs and applications he wants to work on.

The most beautiful feature of this service IaaS is that it can be expanded or reduced according to the needs of the customer, and he pays according to his use, and this is what happens with other cloud services.

Availability of infrastructure as a service. Companies and individuals must purchase computing equipment, provide places to place it, and pay attention to its maintenance and operation.

Instead of building its own server and paying for its storage, maintenance, and operation, the company can book its own hosting in the data center of your service provider. If the volume of data that you want to store increases with a click of a button, you can expand the storage space of the server.

Companies and individuals can store and retrieve their data and have backup copies of them when needed at any time and from anywhere, the important thing is the availability of an Internet connection.

Platform as a service PaaS

In addition to the infrastructure, cloud service providers provide in this model the operating environment and the basic system so that the user can use it at any time and from anywhere.

What remains for the user then is to install the programs and applications that he wishes to work on and develop them, and as we mentioned in the cloud computing services what is important is the availability of an Internet connection, and then the user can log in at any time and from anywhere to the cloud space that he may have reserved.

The user can easily expand or reduce the features that he purchased at any time and pay for what he uses only.

Software as a Service SaaS

In addition to the infrastructure, operating environment, and platform, cloud service providers provide the programs and applications that the user wants to work on, in this model the user does not need to install or add anything, he will only enter its hosting on the cloud and run the application he wants without having to install it on his traditional device.

Like other cloud services, the payment depends on the use, and the specifications can be expanded and reduced according to the user’s needs
